Welcome to Oh Em Gee Comics! The shop that's constantly holding on for its dear life in a Los Angeles strip mall that's seen...well, better days. This comic store and its crew are fighting a constant uphill battle against the ever-evolving digital age, financial ruin, and their own incompetence.
In this age of digital dominance, how in the name of Stan Lee can they convince people that the IRL comic shop experience is still worth getting out of bed for? For the Oh Em Gee crew, it's not just about selling comics - it's about preserving a safe space where fellow nerds in the community can freely debate whether Batman could beat Iron Man without judgment. As they scramble to keep the lights on with increasingly desperate schemes, they'll discover that sometimes the real treasure isn't that one rare comic in mint condition, but the homies who'll help you lug boxes of unsold issues at 3 AM.
THE CHARACTERS
STEPHANIE OKEKE
Played by Cheyenne Ewulu
Stephanie told her Nigerian immigrant parents that she would become a software engineer... she lied. School was not the vibe. Her dream has always been to get into the comic book industry and one day publish her own comic. But if things don’t work out, she’ll never hear the end of it back home.
KEITH HENDRICKS
Played by Zeno Robinson
Keith has plans to become a pro-gamer, and maybe if he manages to keep this job, he can finally afford his dream PC... but don’t hold your breath. He loves co-owning Oh Em Gee Comics with his ‘bestie for the restie’ Stephanie. They don’t always see eye to eye but it’s been that way since high school.
DOMINIQUE SMITH
Played by Shanae Cole
Dominique is on her fifth attempt at a marketing degree, but she keeps getting distracted. She means well, but most of the strange things that happen around the store are the result of her efforts. Her and Stephanie met in college and they’ve been connected at the hip ever since. She’s like an annoying little sister!
CONNOR ROSS
Played by Grayson Niles
Connor isn’t your typical D&D nerd. He has a party frat boy past that flunked him out of college. Now he’s changing his ways and looking to start anew working at Oh Em Gee Comics... but only to prove to mommy and daddy he can be responsible. It’ll be an easy gig... right?
